Overall review of Sandals Montego Bay
Best described as innovative and luxurious, Sandals Montego Bay is an excellent choice for honeymooners and couples who want to take their love to the next level and have fun. This flagship resort typically receives rave reviews, and most recently out of over 6,000 reviews, 85% (!) of respondents rated their resort experience as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very good’.

Sandals Montego Bay is located near the airport, but have no fear, most guests who stay there aren’t bothered about aircraft noise. The consensus is that the resort is in a convenient location which cuts down airport transfer time, ideal for shorter getaways. The resort is the first ever built by Sandals, so you’ll find some of the signature Sandals amenities, as well as new attractions, which add to the vibrancy of the resort. Here you’ll also find the first swim-up bar in the world, which will make for great photos, and stories to share once you get back home. Sandals Montego Bay was recently renovated, so you’ll be able to take advantage of the resort in its finest form if you choose to stay here during your Jamaica getaway. Read on for the three things guests love most about Sandals Montego Bay.
Three things guests love about Sandals Montego Bay
Based on real customer reviews.
1. Guests love the restaurants

Sandals Montego Bay is one of the resorts in Jamaica with plenty of restaurants to choose from – 12 in total. That number is significant even within the Sandals chain, especially when you add 8 more restaurants at the nearby Sandals Royal Caribbean also in Montego Bay that are also available for your dining pleasure. Cucina Romana, an Italian restaurant and Stew Fish, a seafood restaurant, are both highly recommended. Popular options at Stew Fish include West Indies Pepper Pot Soup, Jamaican Pepper Shrimp, and Lobster Bouillabaisse, while Cucina Romana offers Italian favorites like antipasti and ‘minestre e ensalate’, as well as Fettuccine Alfredo and Lasagna Napoletana. You’ll love the atmosphere at the Piano Bar to start the night.
Insider tip: The most popular restaurants at Sandals Montego Bay require a reservation. Make sure to make some dinner reservations on arrival, especially during peak season! For dress-codes and opening times.
2. Guests love the watersports options that are included

There’s so much to choose from in the watersports department that you probably won’t know where to start. Snorkeling, kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding, and sailing are all highly recommended. If you haven’t tried these activities before, the professional watersports team at Sandals Montego Bay will be eager to get you started. You can also go scuba diving if you’re certified or start the process of acquiring your PADI® certification at the resort if you’re not. All of these things can be done from the shores of a pristine private beach in Jamaica, with calm waters due to offshore reefs that are great for exploring.
3. Guests love to spend a day at Sandals Royal Caribbean

Guests who’ve reviewed their experience at Sandals Montego Bay recommend spending a day (or two) at the nearby Sandals Royal Caribbean where you can take advantage of all the amenities in the same manner that you would if you’d stayed on that property. A top-rated thing to do at Sandals Royal Caribbean is dining at Royal Thai, a Thai food restaurant on a private offshore island.
Sandals Montego Bay is “heaven in Jamaica”. Be sure to check out the brand new Over-the-Water Bar. Planning an all-inclusive destination wedding? You’ll love the Over-the-Water Chapel!
